Sonar Update – Researching if a bump of Sonar is best in fall to enhance the results rather than wait until spring 2020. Tim Laseke to discuss with the treatment vendor and get a recommendation for the best course of action to follow. Kevin Kubacki motioned that Laseke be permitted to authorize the additional treatment at his discretion after review with the vendor. Jeff Jones seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
City of Muskego Funding – Kevin Kubaki is working with the City of Muskego to secure approval for $4,560. The City of Muskego provides funding to other local lakes and now Lake Denoon will be included.
Clean Boats Clean Waters Grant – The board members reviewed the Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) grant program. The purpose of the grant is to provide funding for monitoring the public boat launches and educating boaters about best practices to minimize the spread of aquatic invasive species from other lakes to Lake Denoon. If we commit to spending $4,000, the State of Wisconsin will grant the LDLD $8,000. A CBCW grant resolution was proposed:
Lake Denoon Lake District requests grant funds under the Department of Natural Resources’ Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Grant Program and hereby authorizes Tim Laseke to act on its behalf by signing and submitting an application for financial assistance; completing and submitting periodic reports, if needed; and taking necessary actions to direct and complete the Clean Boats, Clean Waters project. Lake Denoon Lake District will meet the financial obligations of the AIS program.
Jeff Jones motioned to approve the CBCW funding/grant resolution and the board members unanimously approved.
Assessment Planning – Planning is underway to submit a list of LDLD members to the City of Muskego for the $220 annual assessment fee included with the property tax bill.
ADJOURN: Kevin Kubacki motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Tim Laseke and all approved. The meeting concluded at approximately 7:40 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Katherine Schauer, Secretary - Lake Denoon Lake District
